Our son Caleb is quite the thinker and is always one step ahead in his thought processes. We entered the drive through at one of our favorite frozen custard shops called "Shakes". Cyd and I were discussing who would be the recipients of the palatable treat when Caleb piped in, "I want some custard." You can't get any because you have a lot of nasal congestion and you refuse to blow your nose; because custard is a type of diary product, you just get more congested; besides that you didn't know that not blowing your nose would result in you not getting one of your favorite treats. That's called an unintended consequence", was my reply. Caleb responded, "But you always allow me to eat other dairy things when I'm congested!" "What things?" I asked. "I can't tell you because then you won't let me eat them!" he exclaimed. Cyd and I laughed out loud knowing that he was one step ahead of me because I was prepared to tell him I wouldn't let him eat those things either. Raising children is one of the hardest things we have ever done, but nothing is more rewarding. Take the time to reflect on the wonderful perspective that your child(ren) bring to your life. I would love to hear some of your LOL moments with your kids.
